Transportation

The new metro station is a nod back to the maritime culture of its context, with a bright and flowing/dynamic grid shell reminiscent of a boat’s sail. The lower levels are imagined like a hull of the boat, with a warm and dark palette.

Sumit organized and managed a small team to develop the architectural design of one of three proposals for a new metro station, coordinating daily with the internal SOM team across SF, LA, NYC and London, as well as with external consultants in China and NYC.
